The Denza Z9 GT offers a driving range of 1,036 km and can be fully charged in just 9 minutes, with prices starting at $39,100.
Denza, the premium new-energy vehicle brand under BYD, has unveiled the updated Z9 GT. The upgraded model comes in five variants, priced from 269,800 yuan ($39,100) to 369,800 yuan ($53,600), and introduces a new rear-wheel-drive option.
The front end of the Z9 GT has been redesigned with sharper lines. Its signature elongated headlights remain, paired with an optimized front bumper and a newly added LiDAR sensor to support advanced driver-assistance systems.

The vehicle’s side profile retains its sleek, flowing lines, now updated with newly designed wheels and flush door handles. At the rear, the fastback silhouette is highlighted by a full-width taillight strip, a reinforced sporty rear bumper, and a dynamic rear spoiler.
Inside, the Z9 GT receives several upgrades, including a new column-mounted gear selector, a redesigned steering wheel, and enhanced ambient lighting. The cabin continues to feature a triple-screen layout with a large floating central control display. A new Lava Red interior option is also available, featuring integrated sport seats, a carbon-fiber interior package, a three-spoke sport steering wheel, and one-touch Boost paddle shifters. The air vent design has also been updated.
The new Denza Z9 GT is powered by a single electric motor producing 496 horsepower. A high-performance tri-motor version is also offered, with individual motors delivering 308 hp, 416 hp, and 416 hp respectively, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds.
Powering the Z9 GT is Denza’s second-generation Blade Battery, which supports ultra-fast charging—adding significant charge in just five minutes and reaching full charge in about nine minutes. Alongside its 1,036 km all-electric range under the CLTC cycle, the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version offers a pure-electric CLTC range of up to 401 km.
According to CarNewsChina, the Z9 GT’s 1,036 km driving range may not even be its most remarkable feature. Thanks to Blade Battery 2.0 technology, the battery can be charged from 10% to 97% in just 9 minutes and 8 seconds. When asked why the charge stops at 97% instead of 100%, BYD CEO Wang Chuanfu quipped: “You always need to leave a little room for the regenerative braking system.”
